Settings

General

Configure general settings used to operate the device.

The general settings sit at the top of the "Stretcher" panel and cover the everyday behavior of the device. They are safe to change and define the defaults of the Home tab.

Behavior toggles

Three switches control how movements are carried out.

The "Always Keep POI Centered" toggle keeps the current position centered while stretching, so a point stays in view under the microscope. This is the default for the matching toggle on the manual controls — see POI remains centered.

The "Allow Asymmetric Completion" toggle lets the left and right arm movements finish at different times instead of being kept in sync.

The "Auto Correct Invalid Movements" toggle automatically pulls a movement back into the valid range when it would otherwise exceed the device limits.

Default Rotation

The "Default Rotation" is the default rotation of the stretcher, in degrees (°). It defaults to 0.

Default Step Size

The "Default Step Size" is the default movement and stretch step size, used as the starting distance for operations. It defaults to 1000.

Default Speed

There are two "Default Speed" fields, one for each way of expressing speed on the manual controls. The "%" field is the default speed as a percentage of the device's top speed and defaults to 50. The "ms" field is the default speed expressed as a duration in milliseconds and defaults to 1000.

These values pre-fill the distance and speed sliders of the manual controls on the Home tab, so you start each session with your preferred settings.
